Manuscripts Collection

The Manuscripts Collection is comprised of a number of small collections of archival material from a variety of British, North American and Australian science fiction writers, critics and anthologists. The material has been collated by the Science Fiction Foundation over a thirty year period and contains a large number of typescripts and proofs of short stories and novels, many of which are annotated, as well as notebooks and a small amount of correspondence. Authors featured in the collection include:-

  • Collins, Paul - 1 typescript
  • De Bolt, Joseph - 2 typescripts plus correspondence with John Brunner
  • Evans, I.O. - 1 typescript
  • Gaiman, Neil - 2 typescripts
  • Gibson, William - 1 typescript
  • Hacker, Marilyn - 1 notebook
  • Pollack, Rachel - 10 typescripts for an anthology (various authors)
  • Priest, Christopher - 2 typescripts
  • Resnick, Mike - 1 typescript
  • Sellings, Arthur - 6 typescripts
  • Watson, Ian - 10 typescripts, 5 notebooks, proof copies and correspondence
  • White, James - 1 typescript

    The collection has not been fully catalogued but has been sorted and given a basic listing. A printed copy of the list is available in the Special Collections and Archives Reading Room at The University of Liverpool Library.

    All material in the Manuscripts Collection is available to researchers for consultation in the University of Liverpool Library's Special Collections and Archives Reading Room by prior arrangement. Please read Using the Collections if you are considering visiting us.
